Hello Tuesday! I hope that making it until Tuesday means that your Monday went well and you are feeling good about the week ahead. I do not want to get ahead of myself, but the two interviews I had yesterday seemed to have gone well and I even have another interview scheduled for Friday with another company. There is no denying that the last month has been slightly upsetting and a little discouraging, but there is a lot to say when we do not give up and throw in the towel. Many things in life are unsettling and can make us feel defeated, but the only way we can fail and be completed defeated is if we give up. I cannot lie there were many times during the past week I wanted to give up and surrender, but I think I am a little too stubborn or rather determined to do so.
I want to be able to help others surpass times of struggle because we all need to be lifted during our lives. Someone I know through Shipt delivery and now consider a good friend helped me see that I do deserve more in life than the past month provided. I respect other’s privacy, so I never share names but will be sure that she sees this! I want her to know how much she has helped me and how much I appreciate her! I think it is amazing how true it is that we do not encounter people by mistake because everyone enters our life for a reason!

WOW, it feels like it has been forever since I did anything in the blogging community! While I was on my much needed vacation with my husband last week, I took a short break from doing anything involving a computer. The two of us went to my happy place, the BEACH, not only to celebrate my birthday, but also our 8 year wedding anniversary . We had an amazing time together and had absolutely beautiful weather! It was so great being far away from the stresses of work and be able to just sit back listening to the ocean waves! I honestly find the sight and sounds of the ocean , while reading a great book to be the best way to relax and refresh!
I am very far behind on reading all of your posts, which I already know are fantastic. Unfortunately, I do have to work the weekend so I can’t say I will be able to catch up, but I will still try.
Considering I have been away for almost 2 weeks now, how have y’all been doing? I hope you are feeling well and your month has started off great! October is beautiful and my favorite month, which I am not just saying that because it is the month I was married in. I have always enjoyed the change in weather during October. Normally it isn’t too hot and not that cold, it is just right! Sounds kind of like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, but yet so true! Of course the southern states are not always on the same page with my thought process and it was in the high 90’s for the first week of October, but thankfully over the weekend the temperatures are going to drop! It is crazy though because when I say the temperatures are going to drop, I mean drop more than 20 degrees in one day!
Like I already stated, my husband and I had a wonderful vacation. Of course it wasn’t long enough and it was painful to return to work. The insane thing is we didn’t get home until the early morning hours and I had to work that day. I was so exhausted; nothing bothered me at all because my mind was still at the beach and maybe I was half asleep still. Of course things not bothering me only lasted half a day and I will tell you more about this later. My boss is still the same idiot he has always been!
For my birthday we had a lovely dinner at a restaurant that was oceanfront ! Considering we were at the beach during the off season it wasn’t overly crowded, which was great! Thankfully my husband did not tell the waitress it was my birthday, so I didn’t have to deal with the wait staff singing happy birthday to me and embarrassing me. I do not like to be center of attention and would prefer to go unnoticed!
The day after my birthday we went to another oceanfront restaurant to celebrate our 8 year wedding anniversary ! Back to back celebrations were nice and peaceful! It is so hard to believe we have already been married for 8 years , I mean where does the time go? I still remember the day my husband proposed like it was yesterday and that was 9 years ago!
I don’t know about you, but before last week there were times I was awake at sunrise, but never actually watched the sunrise. Standing out on the beach in the early morning hours watching the sun come up was a beautiful sight and pretty powerful! It really is amazing to watch as the sun slowly makes its way up to shine light on us all around the world! To think the sun I watched come up will also be seen on the other side of the world at some point.
The weather was so clear we were even able to watch the sunset! The sun sets slowly over the horizons and it is quite magical, especially near the ocean! Of course I do think everything is magical and hypnotizing when I am at the beach!

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you had a wonderful week and are looking forward to a relaxing weekend. I am unsure if it has been the same where you live, but Mother Nature cannot decide what season it is. Springtime temperatures can fluctuate, but this is getting out of control and slightly obnoxious. It seems on one day, the temperature is on the cooler side, but the next day is way too hot and more like summertime weather, which should not happen for a few more months. For reasons I am unsure of, I have been battling with headaches and severe leg and foot pain for a while now, and it is getting worse instead of better. The leg and foot pain does get progressively more intense as the day goes on and used to only get bad at night, and now it is getting unbearable mid-afternoon.
Typically, I would say the increased pain had something to do with stress, but the only thing I am stressed about is getting a job, and I know it will get easier once I complete my class. Others might be feeling stressed about the massive coverage of the former president’s trials, and I can honestly say I do not care much about them because whatever is going to be is going to be, and I cannot change what happens. Yes, I can speculate what I think will happen, but there is no point because that will only frustrate me. I have decided that none of the political nonsense, including the former president’s trials, is worth my time, and I avoid them as much as possible, or at least until my husband is watching them and I cannot get away from them.
Fridays are the perfect day to let go of any negative emotions the week may have created so that we can enjoy the weekend to the fullest. There is no point in dwelling on anything negative when we have a weekend to enjoy! There are many things we can control and acknowledge those we cannot control and just let them be what they are and do whatever they are going to do. Life is too short to focus on negativity or anything we cannot change. If we can remember this, our lives could be complete and much happier in the long run. Happy Friday Eve! I hope you are having a great week and that things are going well. I am a little less than one month away from beginning my class so that I can become a certified medical coder. I have been looking forward to this class and being able to get certified since I completed the basic class for medical coding, and even though I do not have much longer to wait, it feels like a long time to wait. I aimed to find a job and balance my class and a job, but I am starting to think my husband might be right. He wanted me to have the time needed to focus on my classes without adding any stress of working, which I did fight him on because I knew I could handle it. After completing three classes and wanting to do well, I was studying a lot, and if I had been working full-time, would have been challenging and exhausting. The class I am starting on May 20th will require me to take a state exam, so I must focus and have plenty of time to study to ensure I pass. Although I have thanked my husband for all his support, I might not tell him he is right about not working with the class. It is going to be our little secret😉!
Earlier this month, I mentioned April is Stress Awareness Month and said I would be doing more posts about this issue, but I had too much on my mind and failed to do so. I want to discuss stress more because it is a terrible thing many people endure. Today, I want to share symptoms, causes, and ways of overcoming stress, and I will not make you read for hours about this because I know you have other things going on in your life. I can speak about stress from a personal level as this is something I have battled a lot with and even more so this year with everything that has happened. I am not making excuses for waiting so long to do another post about stress awareness month, and I do apologize for that.
There are numerous causes people go through when dealing with stress. Some are very common, which I will outline for you to view.
Financial: retirement savings accounts because we all want to retire before we are 80 years old and be taken care of. College tuition is either for us or children for some people who have children. Housing expenses are something we all experience, but some people may be living beyond their means.
Jobs include work pressures, conflicts with co-workers or bosses, and work overload. I never thought I would say this, but I miss work stress and dealing with co-workers.
Relationships include relationship issues whether they are romantic or platonic.
Life changes which include major life changes, death over a loved one, divorce, loss of a job, getting married, moving, or buying a new home.
Personal Beliefs can cause arguments regarding religion or political beliefs. Unfortunately, this is a massive issue in society today because you cannot turn on the news without hearing something political, and we all have our beliefs.
Environmental issues can include loud noise, weather, crowds, temperature, pollution, or crime.
Everyone will experience different symptoms during stressful times, and none are pleasant. I will outline common symptoms people might experience, but there are many more that might not be as common. I am going to list the symptoms in order of physical, mental, behavioral, and other symptoms that do not fall under anything specific.
Physical Symptoms: headaches, muscle tension, upset stomach, chest pain, high blood pressure, digestive issues, or heartburn.
Mental Reactions: concentration difficulties, changes in mood, irritability or anger, feelings of guilt, helplessness, or hopelessness.
Behavioral Responses: avoidance of family and friends, using alcohol or other substances as a coping mechanism.
Other signs and symptoms include difficulty breathing, panic attacks, blurred eyesight or sore eyes, sleep disturbances, fatigue, sudden weight gain or loss, sweating, or changes in a woman’s menstrual cycle.
That is probably enough information in one post, and too much information can be overwhelming. I will try to work on another post for tomorrow about ways to overcome stress, as there are many ways, and not all of them will work for everyone the same way. I think the ways to overcome stress are crucial, so I will be working on this so that it is ready to share tomorrow. With the amount of stress I have felt this year, I need to find ways to get past it because stress does cause more issues with multiple sclerosis, and I have tried so hard to keep things under some kind of control and do not want it to get any worse than it already is.

When life goes sideways from what we had planned and expected, we can feel disappointed and discouraged, but that does not mean we should give up and accept defeat. During our lifetime, there will be many times we are discouraged and find it challenging to discover inspiration. Our inspirations do not always stem from others and can come from inside ourselves. I realize when nothing appears to be going in the right direction, seeing inspiration inside can be extremely difficult and nearly impossible, but it is still there. Finding inspiration, courage, and positivity might take a little extra time and consideration for ourselves. When the dark clouds loom over our heads for a long time, we think the sun will never shine on our lives again, and if we continue believing this, the darkness will only last longer. Dig a little deeper and remember everything you have already overcome in your life, and you will be reminded of the strength you hold, which will hopefully lead you in a brighter direction.
In most of my posts, some of what I am sharing are words I need to remind myself of, and I will reread the words often to let them sink in. We all experience challenges in our lives, and sometimes challenges will linger, and we feel like they will not improve. We are only human, and this is how the human mind thinks, and there is nothing wrong with that, but we cannot get lost in the challenges and must find ways to overcome them. Anything we are unhappy about in our lives, we are the only ones who can make the changes necessary to get past the unpleasant times. No one can fix our lives, so we must take charge and make changes. We must inspire ourselves with changes, and steps we take might help another person overcome similar challenges.
We are halfway through the week and only have the final part to survive, which I think we can handle, but we could all use an inspirational quote to help us along. Whatever you have gone through, something is waiting for you at the end of the rainbow, so please keep striving for success. We have all felt beaten down in life and feel like giving up would be easier but doing that would not help overcome anything because you would feel even worse. Seek out your full potential in this life, and never lose the desire to win because you will win! Unlock the door that has been closed for too long and discover your potential, and I have no doubt you will succeed! Monday is over, and we are onto another day, which we should feel optimistic about because we are getting closer to the weekend. Tuesday will be a good day, and if you do not believe it, continue to repeat this to yourself until it becomes a reality. Repetition can be convincing or at least that is what some people seem to think, even when they are lying. I hope your week has started the best way possible and everything is going well. Can you believe April is almost over? We have nearly survived four months of this year, and I can only hope the year improves as it has been challenging, but there have been some amusing parts to it as well. The things I have found amusing I know some people will not agree, so I will not call them out, but we should always try to find something that can make us laugh daily. Honestly, some of what makes me laugh makes me feel like a terrible person, but if I do not laugh at these issues, I worry it will be very depressing, and no one needs anything else to add to depression and sadness.
Life can feel like an ocean. Many peaceful waves can soothe the heart and soul, but there are strong currents that can make you feel like you are drowning. Instead of dwelling on those strong currents, we should embrace the peaceful waves and hold on to how they made us feel. The hard times in our lives are only more rapid waters trying to consume our thoughts and cause us to feel negativity, but we can fight against them and know these currents will pass. Every part of life, good or bad, will provide us with strength and the knowledge to overcome anything. All the knowledge to overcome difficulties is inside us, but we forget them. Allowing the difficulties to consume our thoughts and minds will only push us further into the drowning waters. Use your strength to be far away from negativity, and positivity will carry you to better days. Situations we endure in life are not permanent, and we must remember that life can get better.
Today is a new day, and I would like to continue with the positive affirmations. I want to try doing three a day and stay true to them. I hope you will do this as well, and again, you do not have to share your positive affirmations if you do not feel comfortable doing so. My three positive affirmations for today are the following. 1. I am in charge of how I feel today, and I am optimistic. 2. My soul radiates warmth, love, and compassion. 3. I know my worth. These are affirmations I must remember and will remind myself of because I have not felt the best about myself lately. My heart and mind say I know better, but sometimes it is easy to get down because finding a new job takes forever. I guess it does not help finding a job that I need something remote, and starting in less than a month, I will need to be available two nights a week for my class. I was reminded on Monday by someone I respect things will happen for me. If someone I have never met has faith in my abilities, the least I can do is have faith in myself, right?

Good day, and welcome to the beginning of a new week😊! Our views of Monday set the tone for the entire week, so we must try not to oppose Monday because it will never change and will return. Our views of Monday are simply a matter of perspective, and we should try to embrace it. Each day, including Monday, is just another day in our journey in life. Even though it was short, we had an opportunity to enjoy a weekend, and hopefully, you could take advantage of each day! My post on Mondays used to be “Motivational Monday”, and can be viewed similarly, but there is a slight change. I want to help everyone, myself included, make positive affirmations. Everyone can start this on Monday to set the tone for your week, or you can try doing this daily and hope it makes a positive change in life. There are many fabulous things about this and explain what they are and a few ways to get started.
First, positive affirmations are phrases we can repeat to ourselves, describing how we want to be. They can help us through challenging situations and negative thinking. Positive affirmations can help us to improve our mental health and our overall well-being and overcome depression, anxiety, and any other challenges we face. These only need to be straightforward statements we utilize to accomplish goals, overcome negative thoughts, and improve self-confidence. Positive affirmations can also reduce stress and encourage motivation. We only need to discover a routine that works best for our lives. We can start this slowly and gradually, such as at the beginning of the week. You can add additional affirmations daily or more days. If you feel comfortable and ready, you can jump right in and do this daily.
Today, I am going to think of three positive affirmations. Feel free to share yours if you feel comfortable, but I will not pressure you to participate. I decided to do this because it has been a challenging year, and I have allowed myself to get discouraged, which is not how I typically think. Even though I know things will work out, the job search has been very difficult and discouraging. My list is not in any specific order, but all three are what I will focus on this week. 1. I am optimistic because today is a new day. 2. I have encountered challenges, but overcoming them has made me more resilient. 3. I am turning DOWN the volume of negativity and turning UP the volume of positivity. If you decide to participate, you can repeat your affirmations to yourself several times a day, write them on a sticky note, and place them where you will see them, or you can write your affirmations several times so they will stick in your mind!

Anyone who has read my blogs knows I have a strong love for animals, finding it easy to communicate and form bonds with them. I have mentioned several times I started feeding a couple of what appear to be feral outside cats a few months ago. During the first few days, only two cats were noticed on the front porch, so naturally, I began talking to and feeding them. To my surprise, it seems like the cat is out of the bag, pun intended, and currently, there are between six and eight kitty visitors who come for a good meal at least twice a day. Word has spread quickly through the neighborhood kitty community about the house that always has food, fresh water, a box with a soft towel for them to get warm on the colder nights, and an outdoor kitty house so they can stay comfortable and dry on the many rainy days and nights. Between the adorable cat house and a place to sleep, it should not be surprising numerous cats have adopted our porch as their new home.
From what I have seen, the outside cats get along with each other, at least for the most part. Thankfully, there have only been a couple of altercations between the outside kitty gang. Mostly, the disagreements witnessed were a lot of unhappy and unimpressed kitty language. The cat I know is a boy who is a super sweet tomboy and is typically accommodating with the gang of frequent visitors, but I think it is because they are female, and he could be the father of some of them. One night, there was a visitor I had never seen before. As the new cat ate, the well-known tomboy sniffed around before both cats communicated their unsettling feelings, and the tomboy chased the new cat away. I think the new cat is a boy, and the known cat acts territorial because he is convinced, the porch belongs to him. He marked his territory and only shared with cats of his choosing.
Now that the neighborhood cats have spread the word about where to get a meal, the only thing I can do is to oblige with their demands. Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on the perspective, I cannot say no, turn cats away, or let the precious cats go hungry because they deserve more and better than that kind of life. I know many people are fine having their cats indoors and outdoors, but too much can happen to them in the wild. Our cats have always been strictly indoors only because I would worry too much and cause myself to have a heart attack if they did not come home for days. I worry now when I do not see the outside cats for more than one day. I might be wrong keeping our cats prisoner in the house, but at least I know they are safe, and it is a cushy prison.
Not only do we have between six and eight cats we feed outside, but we have two inside cats as well. There is at least one possum and one groundhog who eat the cat food on the porch. It seems like we are running a smaller version of a zoo. If I had my way and my husband and two cats would allow it, I would have a house full of animals. I almost think it would be easier to convince my husband that the two cats because the cats can be a little moody and combative, but overall they are sweet little furry angels. Some people want a house full of children, but we have always treated our cats like they were our children, so the only differences are the number of legs and worrying about what those with two-leg children have to deal with.
There are billions of people living in the world, and for reasons I will never understand, struggle with getting along with each other. As I have watched the interactions between our cats and those outside, they have proven to get along with each other. If different animals can get along, why can’t humans get along with each other? Why can wild animals accept one another, but humans cannot do the same? Differences might be confusing to some, but should differences not be intriguing? Maybe if we learned the way others live in different cultures, it would broaden our horizons and teach us something new. Many are scared of what they do not know or understand, but if we approach this with an open and accepting mind, maybe we could all get along and live in peace and harmony.

If anything negative happened to you during the week, how did you deal with it? One thing that seems to happen every month for me is getting my Gilenya for MS to arrive on time. This is not a medication you can take when you want to, as it needs to be taken daily around the same time. It is frustrating, but it is also something I am used to dealing with, and try not to allow this to cause me too much unnecessary stress because that will only make matters worse. It might sound negative, but I have given up on expecting people to do what they are supposed to with their jobs, which causes me to do much more work. It is what it is, and at least I only missed one day of my medication and took it late the second day.
At the end of each week, we must find a way to let go of any negative emotions the week has caused. Everyone should be able to enjoy their weekend as much as possible and not carry anything negative with them. Over the years, I have learned to accept we must let go of things we have no control over and cannot change because trying to change things we cannot change will only cause unnecessary stress. If we want to live our lives the happiest way we can, we must let go of anything holding us down. This could mean people, other issues that have occurred, or anything else that holds us down. We might not be able to fly like the butterflies, but we can live our lives at the highest point, but only when we are not weighed down. Negative influences from friends and family can cause us to feel negative and down, but we can let go of those relationships if it is in our best interest.

This is the reason why I do my best to avoid the news. I never watch the news willingly, but rather partially listen when my husband has it on. Happy Wednesday and making it halfway through another week! How has your week been so far? It seems to have been a crazy week. I mentioned Monday was the beginning of the former president of the United States criminal trial, and I am sure even though something should come out of it, the trial will amount to nothing. I am not sure why I am surprised anyone in powerful positions can get away with doing illegal things, but I do not foresee any changes. Monday was also the final day to complete taxes in the United States, and it was another miserable and stressful experience, but it is a yearly issue in the country. I would not mind paying as much taxes as we all must pay if the money was going towards something helpful for American citizens, but the money is not helping anyone. Yesterday, I completed the final exam for the Anatomy & Physiology class, and I am happy to report I got an A! The only thing I can do now is practice patience with the job search and the start of the next class on May 20th.
At the halfway through the week point, knowing we still have the second half to get through, I think it is a perfect time to share an inspiring quote. Without being able to remain inspired, encouraged, and optimistic, the negativity that occurs in the world can destroy our mental stability. If we cannot admit we are wrong, apologize when we have done something we should not have, forgive those we should forgive, love deeply, and live life without regrets, we are not living a fulfilling life. It is easy to hold a grudge against someone who has caused us pain, but forgiving their wrongs and letting go of the hard feelings will only make us happier. We do not forgive others for their sake; it is only for ours. Showing kindness, respect, love, and support is better for everyone involved and creates more harmony and happiness!
It may be easy to be critical of yourself, but does that help you succeed in life? I will admit that I have always been very critical of anything and everything I do, but I know I am hindering my success, which will never be a good thing. Being your worst critic will never help you to overcome things you find challenging, but if you can acknowledge what you need to improve on and work towards change, you will be a better and stronger person. If we were as critical towards another person as we are towards ourselves, how would that make that person feel? It would probably destroy any of their self-confidence and cause them emotional distress. Anyone who criticizes themselves should start trying to say one good thing about themselves each day and see if that improves their confidence and mental well-being.

Happy Tuesday, y’all! I hope your week is going well so far and continues to get better with each day😊! In the United States, the week began with a bang, as yesterday was the last day to complete taxes, which is never a fun time. Most of us wonder where all our tax dollars go because most roads remain terrible to drive on, and we surely do not get any benefits from healthcare. Yesterday was also the start of another trial for the former president and leading presidential candidate, Donald Trump. This trial is a criminal trial and makes it terrible he is the leading candidate for the president of the United States. I often wonder what would happen to many others who faced criminal charges in the United States. How many people can continue running to be the president when facing criminal charges? Many other countries would have to watch US news and laugh at the hypocrisy, and it would be more laughable if it were not our reality.
I read an article yesterday that I knew was a mistake because it was about COVID-19 and Multiple Sclerosis. The article indicated hospitalizations and deaths due to COVID-19 in those with Multiple Sclerosis are increasing. Of course, this was an upsetting and terrifying article to read because I have worried about my failing immune system and COVID-19 since it started back in 2020. Thankfully, I have been able to avoid getting COVID, but I think that is because I rarely leave the house, and when I do, I am extra cautious. People have criticized me for being so cautious, and those who have criticized me have all had COVID-19. I was so desperate to start working again that I almost considered broadening my job search to an office setting, but that was against my best judgment. When looking for another job, I will continue to only look for remote work because I think it is safer.
Tuesday is one step closer to Friday, so it is something to be thankful for. No matter what happens during the week, we must find ways to stay focused and calm because if we allow anything to trouble our minds, we prevent ourselves from having a happy life. It is not always easy to avoid stress or upsetting issues, but we can focus on simple things that make us feel happier and free. I hope the quote I am sharing today will help you focus on the beautiful things in the world and find happiness in the simpler things. Why get lost in the challenging and awful things going on in the world when we can keep our lives simple? We can decide to live a typical and simple life, but for some, it feels boring, but they are the most stress-free lives possible!
